A Special Place for Siblings of Those with Disabilities

Sibling Counseling

Having someone with special needs in your family can cause unique challenges. That is why Boundless is pleased to partner with Ohio SIBS to offer special counseling opportunities for all ages who have a sibling with a disability. Whether your loved one has specific challenges they need to work through, or you are looking to start counseling as part of a healthy lifestyle, our team is ready to connect you with the Boundless professional who is right for you.

"We are excited about our partnership with Boundless. Siblings of people with disabilities are in need of support as they support their siblings with disabilities in different ways during every stage of life. Siblings often have added responsibility, but do not receive enough information and support from parents, service providers, and healthcare workers. Boundless already works with people with disabilities and their families. They can provide siblings with the care and support they need while understanding their perspective and unique challenges. We look forward to this partnership and helping connect siblings to the support that they need," Dianna Temple, executive director, Ohio SIBS.

Boundless specializes in working with individuals of all ages and abilities, meaning our caring professionals are equipped to offer understanding and insights into the world of families like yours. Our team of licensed behavioral health therapists, social workers, and counselors are highly experienced working with both behavioral and mental health challenges.

We offer flexibility in appointments, having both in-person and telehealth counseling options. Boundless has locations across Ohio, including Medina, Mahoning County, Newark, West Carrollton, Perrysburg, and our main campus in Worthington where you will also find our new Boundless Health center. Ask us about the availability of in-person counseling right from the comfort of your home.

Sibling Support Group

Sibling Meetups is part group therapy and part get-together; our clinicians lead activities and in-depth discussions on important topics facing siblings of people with disabilities.

When it comes to finding understanding, support, and community, there is nothing quite like discovering “your people.” Connecting with a group who share similar life experiences, challenges, and interests can go a long way in making a positive impression on your mental health and daily life.

This new sibling support group is only available at our Mahoning Campus of Care location, 1960 East County Line Road Mineral Ridge, OH 44440. It is open to all ages and meets in the evening on the last Tuesday of the month.

Each meetup covers a unique, relevant topic and will last an hour and a half. All participants will have time to ask questions and share their individual experiences with the group. In addition, fun activities such as games in the gym, creative arts, and board games are on the agenda.

If you are interested in either of these sibling services, please contact us at info@iamboundless.org or call 1-800-409-2729.
