Philanthropy in Action: Building a Boundless Community Together

How Giving Tuesday Supports Our Mission

In a world that often feels uncertain, one truth stands out: we need each other. At Boundless, we believe in the power of community, and in the idea that when people unite behind a shared mission, real change happens.

“Philanthropy is more than just giving,” says Dominique Thobaben, Corporate and Foundations Relations Director at Boundless. “It’s a declaration that we live in an interconnected world, where compassion and action go hand in hand.”

For nonprofits like Boundless, serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and behavioral health needs, donor support is essential.

Supporting a Historically Overlooked Community

Historically, the I/DD community has been underserved and overlooked. For decades, services were largely government-driven, and public understanding of this population remained limited. However, thanks to the generosity of donors and the tireless work of advocates, we’ve begun to shift that narrative.

Philanthropy has helped us lay a foundation of choice, inclusion, and empowerment. We’ve made progress, but there’s still a long way to go. And with your help, we can get there.

Why Giving Tuesday Matters More Than Ever

This year, Giving Tuesday carries even greater weight. Nonprofits nationwide face mounting challenges, and competition for grants and corporate funding is fierce. That’s why individual donors make such a difference. In fact, individuals account for the largest share of charitable giving—and their contributions often go straight to programs that change lives.

At Boundless, the revenue we receive from reimbursements helps cover basic administrative tasks like keeping the lights on. But it’s philanthropy and individual donations that allow us to go further: to enhance the quality of care, create meaningful experiences, and offer services that state and federal funding simply don’t cover.

  • $25 funds an individual’s first primary care visit.
  • $50 supports two and a half hours of residential care.
  • $100 covers the cost of one therapy session.
  • $250 covers the cost for one child to receive one day of autism services.

Every dollar donated helps deliver dignity, joy, choice, and opportunity.

Transparency and Trust

We know donors want to see where their money goes. At Boundless, we honor that trust by ensuring contributions go directly to the programs and services that matter most. We’re committed to transparency and showing the real impact of every gift.

And if your employer offers matching gifts, Giving Tuesday is the perfect time to double—or even triple—your impact. Many companies increase their match on this day, so check with your HR department and make your gift go further.

Join the Boundless Family

When you give to Boundless, you’re not just making a donation, you’re joining a movement. You become part of a committed community that receives updates, event invitations, and opportunities to engage more deeply with our mission.

As Thobaben explains, “your investment goes further than your dollar. It helps you grow as an advocate.” Carrie Burson, Director of Individual Giving, adds that “by giving, you’re joining us on a journey to step up for people who don’t always have a voice for themselves.”

Ultimately, giving is a powerful statement, saying: I believe people in this population are valued members of our community. By taking that step, you learn more, connect more, and help shape a world we all deserve.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to stand with Boundless. Together, we can continue building a future where every individual is seen, supported, and celebrated. To make a donation this Giving Tuesday or any day, please visit iamboundless.org/donate.
