Individual Donors Have a Big Impact

Our philanthropic partners are making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Their generosity fuels our mission and helps create Boundless possibilities.

Each quarter, we spotlight one of our generous donors, and we celebrate Lauren Payne for the fourth quarter of 2023. She is COO and President of Tristar Transportation. Tristar Transportation is the leading provider of school transportation for special needs children in Central Ohio, and they help the individuals we serve get to where they want to go in more ways than one.

What inspired you to support the Boundless mission with a charitable gift?

Tristar is a transportation partner of Boundless helping children attend the center-based programs. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to meet with Dominique and the Boundless team and learned more about the great things Boundless does for the I/DD community. After joining the new Open Circle Society, I was happy to make a charitable gift to further support the OCS mission. Additionally, my team at Tristar has always loved working with the Boundless team—they are truly one of the best partners we have in the I/DD school community, which is just another reason for Tristar, and for me personally, to support this great organization.

Which Boundless programs or service areas interests you the most?

The center-based programming for the kids my drivers transport. However, I've also been so impressed with the other forward-thinking initiatives like the Boundless Health Center as I've become more acquainted with the organization.

What do you wish everyone knew about Boundless?

The advanced services and resources they provide the community, including the unique health center they've opened to provide more coordinated healthcare for those with disabilities. It was eye-opening to hear about the struggles those with disabilities run into when finding supportive doctors, dentists, etc.

What is your organization doing to promote a more inclusive workplace for those with disabilities?

We are continuing to revamp and improve our staff and driver training to ensure our team has the most up-to-date understanding and know-how to create the most inclusive experience for our riders and their families with I/DD.

On a personal level, what do you hope to accomplish with your philanthropy?

I hope to continue to spread awareness about this great organization in the Worthington community. Additionally, I am grateful for the opportunity to put some of my time and resources towards supporting others in my community.
