Individual Donations Make a Difference
Our philanthropic partners are making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Their generosity fuels our mission and helps create Boundless possibilities.
We spotlight one of our generous donors each quarter, and we celebrate Jameson Lett for the second quarter of 2023. Lett has given generously to multiple Boundless programs over the past several years. We asked him a few questions about his philanthropic goals and why he and his family chose Boundless.
What inspired you to support the Boundless mission with a charitable gift?
I started my first career with a company like Boundless, doing direct care with people of varied abilities. During my time in this field, I became a parent of a child with a genetic disorder. I witnessed the lack of access to resources and felt the confusion around how to connect and coordinate all the different services my own son needed. The combination of my personal experience as a parent and my professional experience in direct care provided a compelling reason for starting my financial planning practice, so that I could help families (starting with my own!) do their absolute best with the resources available to them.
But there is so much more that needs to be done if people of varied abilities are going to live complete and integrated lives within their communities. For example, we need service providers that can deliver first-class solutions and address medical and behavioral needs holistically. As I learned more about all that Boundless was up to and how this was essentially their mission statement, I decided to start making financial donations. It just felt like the right thing to do. For one reason, my wife and I want to play an active role in shaping the future of how services are provided to our son, who will grow to rely more and more on companies like Boundless. And frankly, talk is cheap. Show me a cashflow statement and I will show you the priorities for that person or business. I wasn't always in a position where I could afford charitable donations. Fortunately, those days have passed and although there are many ways to give to causes that you care about, I know just how important it is for nonprofits to establish a solid donor base. So, as a family, we were excited to add our names to that list.
Which Boundless programs/service areas interests you the most?

What do you wish everyone knew about Boundless?
Nonprofits in this space are under more pressure than ever. Private Equity and Venture Capital funds are flowing into this industry and trying to outspend their smaller, nonprofit competitors. Your partnership in helping to shape the landscape of these crucial services is extremely timely and important! If you have a loved one who may rely on such services, or if you've experienced some success in your life and are looking for a way to pay it forward, Boundless is a great company with a worthy cause. Please consider becoming a financial partner.
What do you hope to accomplish through your philanthropy?
It is our hope to be a part of something great - something that will outlive us. Though our donations are relatively small, it is our hope that we will get to play a small role in changing the way services are provided to people of varied abilities so that our son - and the many people like him - will have an equal opportunity to participate in society and coordinated access to the services that make this possible. Or as we now call it: to live boundlessly!
