Building a physical home for Ohio’s first health center dedicated to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and behavioral health challenges had long been a dream for the families and leadership of I Am Boundless, Inc. And thanks to a successful $2-million capital campaign, that dream is now a reality.

Boundless Health brings together primary care, dental care and behavioral health care under one roof, enabling the professionals who work there to provide whole-person services to patients. Although open to everyone, the program – and the building that houses it – is specifically designed for people with I/DD and/or behavioral health challenges.

“At Boundless we want to treat the whole person and meet all their needs, so launching Boundless Health was the next logical step for us. I’m extremely grateful the community supported us so generously, so we can continue to expand our services. This summer Boundless Health is adding a pharmacy dedicated to our patients,” said president and CEO of Boundless, Patrick Maynard, PhD.

The unique program needed a unique location, and Boundless spent over a year renovating an existing administration building on its Worthington, Ohio, campus.

“When you step inside our new building, you immediately sense the difference – it is truly a trauma-informed and comforting atmosphere. From the soothing color palettes to the thoughtful layout, every element is designed to instill a sense of safety, belonging and accessibility – and patients notice that,” said Katie Babcock, director of healthcare operations.

“Boundless Health addresses a crucial gap in healthcare accessibility and inclusivity,” Babcock said. “Our focus extends beyond treatment; we prioritize health outcomes and holistic well-being, offering integrated, collaborative care for those who need it most. Initially, we were dedicated to serving individuals with (I/DD), but we've expanded this reach to include those facing complex behavior health challenges, and anyone seeking a nurturing primary care home. We proudly accept patients of all ages and abilities into our practice.”

“We’re so grateful the community really stepped up to help us create this beautiful environment for such an important program,” said Jodi Bopp, vice president of advancement. “Individuals, corporations, foundations and elected officials all came together and generously gave over the last two years. We’re so humbled by their generosity, and excited about the positive impact Boundless Health will make on the patients it serves.”
