Tribute Gifts are a Great Way to Honor Others
Written by Jodi L. Bopp, CFRE
Vice President of Advancement at Boundless
Michelle Stewart was one of the first residential team members I met when I came to Boundless more than five years ago. She welcomed me with a friendly smile and easy laugh, answered all my “newbie” questions with patience, and shared with me the impact the residential program has in the Central Ohio region. She also has a killer denim jacket that I’d love to own although I’m probably not cool enough to wear it.
After 31 years, Michelle is retiring from Boundless later this month. Holy cow – that’s a lifetime. Three decades of service to the people and mission of Boundless. In that time, Michelle has seen literally everything. She’s supported hundreds of people who receive services and several hundred staff who provide those important services. She’s been there for happy times and sad, day in and day out. She’s more than earned her retirement and we all wish her well.
Many times, when someone reaches a significant milestone, people like to celebrate with a special gift. One thoughtful option is a tribute gift.
Tribute gifts can be given in any amount at any time and for any reason. Tribute gifts are often given when someone dies and are given in memory of a loved one. But tribute gifts are also given for happier occasions – like birthdays and anniversaries. We recently even received a tribute donation in honor of a staff member’s wedding.
Donors making tribute gifts can receive a tax deduction, and the person being honored (or their family) receives a nice note with the donor’s name on it. Best of all, when someone makes a tribute gift, the dollars to go support the people and mission of Boundless.
If you’re inclined to make a tribute gift – in honor of Michelle’s retirement or any occasion – feel free to log on to www.iamboundless.org/donate and be sure you provide relevant information in the tribute section. If you’ve got questions, you can always reach out to me at jbopp@iamboundless.org and I’m happy to talk with you about the process.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
