Family Support Services
What is Family Support Services?
Family Support Services is provided by the State of Ohio for families who have chosen to keep their family member with developmental disabilities at home. This funding is available on a limited basis, through Boundless, for services and equipment that include, but are not limited to, adaptive equipment, private providers, special diets, and home modifications.
How Does it Work?
- Parents/Guardians who have family members with developmental disabilities living full-time in the home are eligible to apply for Family Support Services by completing an application.
- Family members with developmental disabilities must also meet the criteria for services as determined by the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
- The application is reviewed and sent to the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities intake office and returned to Boundless with approval of eligibility. After approval has been communicated back to the family, guardians can contract Boundless to review how to acquire funds and services.

(Boundless) is a godsend. It’s so wonderful to know Sandra is with (Boundless) and if something would happen to me it would be all right. It’s marvelous Sandra is learning all these new skills, too. We’re so lucky to have this kind of organization in Franklin County. It’s a perfect solution.
