Boundless Family of Companies Announces Six New Board Members
The Boundless family of companies is delighted to announce the appointment of six individuals to its board of trustees. David Clark (CFO & partner, Vanguard Wines), Robert “Bob” Hays (wealth advisor, Stratos Wealth Partners), Adrian Moore (officer/financial center manager, Fifth Third Bank), Lori Steiner (president and chief operating officer, BORROR), Gwen Weihe (community advocate), and Marci Straughter (community advocate) began their tenure on the Boundless board January 1, 2021.
Straughter is a pioneer, making history as the first person with a developmental disability to join the Boundless board.
“Boundless has always been fortunate to have exceptional board members generous with their time, treasure, and talents. Our new members continue that tradition,” said Boundless CEO and President Patrick Maynard, PhD. “Our mission is to build a world that realizes the boundless potential of all people. Our new board members bring a lot to the table and will play an important role as we continue to grow and realize that vision.”
As Boundless has grown from a modest Central Ohio-based nonprofit to a family of nonprofits working with more than 10,000 individuals and families across the state in recent years, the board of trustees has actively sought to recruit new members from a variety of different backgrounds to better serve the people and mission of Boundless.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Marci, David, Bob, Adrian, Lori, and Gwen,” said Bill Forquer, current board chair. “It’s an incredible group of people. They are exactly the kind of new voices we need in the mix as Boundless expands into new communities and new services. Together, we’re going to open a lot of doors for a lot of people.”
David began his career as a bank manager and quickly rose through the commercial banking world, serving lengthy tenures at Key Bank and Chase Bank. He formed the Milestone Capital Group, LLC, as a partner in April 2001 and left there to join the Vanguard Wines group in 2010. David has extensive nonprofit board experience, having served as president of the Leukemia Society of Central Ohio, a board member at BalletMet Columbus, and various volunteer leadership positions with Junior Achievement of Central Ohio, among others.
Robert “Bob” Hays
Bob has nearly two decades of experience in finance and wealth management. Prior to joining Stratos Wealth Partners, Bob served as vice president at Merrill Lynch and senior VP at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. An Upper Arlington native, Bob is well known in both financial planning and philanthropy circles as one of the hallmarks of his business practice is to help his clients see their philanthropic dreams come to fruition.
Adrian’s career at Fifth Third Bankcorp began in 2012. Since joining Fifth Third, he has been recognized several times for his work. In 2015, he received the coveted President Circle Award, which honors Fifth Third’s top performers in each business line. Adrian is the African American Business Resource Group’s co-chair and participates in the bank’s Young Bankers Program. Earlier this year, he graduated from the African American Leadership Academy, a highly selective program directed by Donna James. Adrian launched his professional career working with Franklin County Treasurers Richard Cordray and Edward Leonard—experiences he will bring to the Boundless board government affairs and advocacy committees.
As a member of the BORROR team for three decades, Lori has a wealth of experience in all aspects of the real estate industry. She is known for her ability to quickly evaluate land, identify the correct targets and marketability of a project, and then develop the strategy toward success. Lori has extensive experience on not-for-profit boards and committees, having served in a volunteer capacity at the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center, Ohio Housing Finance Agency, and Urban Land Institute, among others. Organizations with whom she’s volunteered include Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and The Short North Alliance.
A Franklin County native, Marci Straughter represents the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ self-advocate advisory council with Superintendent Jed Morrison. She is a project STIR statewide trainer and has trained over 100 people in Ohio to speak up for themselves and become Ohio leaders. Marci was appointed by Governor Kasich to the Ohio DD Council in April 2014 through 2020. As part of her work on the council, Marci is chairwoman for the advisory committee for her provider at home and is also a member of the council of Ohio leaders (COOL) board. In January, 2021, Marci became an Ohio Tech Ambassador.
Gwen was a district sales manager for Doncaster, owner and president of Shopping Tripps in Norfolk, NE, and spent time teaching high school and college. She remains co-owner of Thomas Enterprises.
