Corporate Donations Make A Difference
Our philanthropic partners are making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Their generosity fuels our mission and helps create Boundless possibilities.
We spotlight one of our generous donors each quarter, and we celebrate Hylant for the third quarter of 2023. From business insurance to employee benefits, Hylant's promise is to help their clients to be the best at what they do. Those words ring true in their philanthropic actions and commitment to inclusivity.
What inspired you to support the Boundless mission with a charitable gift?
We believe in the work that is taking place at Boundless. The opportunities and resources that are available through Boundless have such a powerful impact on our community. Like Boundless, Hylant is committed to community involvement where our clients and employees live and work. By improving the lives of others, we enrich the lives of our team members in the process. This culture of caring reminds us that we are family, and family takes care of family.
Which Boundless programs/service areas interests you the most?
Since it is the newest offering from I Am Boundless, and one of the most needed services for the Developmentally Disabled Community of Central Ohio, the new Health Center is of special interest to our Hylant Team. It is a service that is not typically provided for Developmentally Disabled individuals, and children and their families struggle to find someone who is trained to treat special needs individuals. This health center, which will serve the medical and dental needs of these DD individuals, is cutting-edge in its field and will be a Godsend to their families.
What do you wish everyone knew about Boundless?
Just the passion that every person in the organization has (from the CEO on down) to overserve the developmentally disabled community and to exceed their corporate Mission statement year in and year out, which is “to build a world that realizes the boundless potential of all people. Everything we do is in furtherance of that mission and shaped by our values of love, respect, empowerment, excellence, and well-being.”
What is your organization doing to promote a more inclusive workplace for those with disabilities?
Hylant has established inclusive recruitment standards to ensure that job openings are advertised transparently and that the recruitment process is free from bias. We connect with career service offices and disability resource centers at partner colleges and universities, disabled veteran associations and others to build a talent pipeline of qualified candidates with disabilities and increase awareness of Hylant.
We design inclusivity into policies and practices. Proper checks and balances ensure that employees willing to disclose their disabilities don’t face discrimination at work.
Hylant adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines and offers accommodations to aid employees with limitations or special needs. We create accessible physical and technological spaces and offer flexible work arrangements to promote diversity and inclusion in all aspects of employment. Further, we continually encourage employees to communicate accommodation needs and engage in an interactive process to find reasonable solutions.
When needed, Hylant partners with the Job Accommodation Network (JAN) and legal resources for practical and legal guidance on workplace accommodation solutions, accommodation process strategies and employment provisions of ADA and related legislation.
Finally, Hylant also encourages all employees to be mindful of maintaining their mental health. We offer a variety of resources for employees and their spouses through our wellness program, including webinars and coaching resources. Employees can access a 24-hour mental health resource through the company-paid employee assistance program.
